— About the Competition —

The Third Julia Crane International Piano Competition and Festival was held on October 27-29, 2006, at The Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY.  The 2006 Festival/Competition featured $3,500 in prizes, as well as unique learning opportunities for all competitors.

Since 2002, the piano competition has provided scholarships and performance opportunities for young pianists.  In addition the festival provides students and piano pedagogues from around the world with an opportunity to participate in workshops and masterclasses with the Crane piano faculty and renowned guest pedagogues on various topics.

The setting for the event is autumnal upstate New York (congenially known as "The North Country").  This is a chance to enjoy world class performances in a relaxed and friendly country atmosphere.
