Fewer High School Students Drinking Alcohol, CDC Reports
The proportion of high school students who drink alcohol fell from 51% in 1991 to 43% in 2005, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Almost 14,000 students participated in the 2005 National Youth Risk Behavior Survey, which is conducted every two years in public and private schools across the united States.
During the same period the proportion who use marijuana rose from 15% to 20%.
