Sensible Drinking Campaign for University Students Increases Responsible/Moderate Alcohol Consumption
A responsible drinking campaign at student unions in the UK has led to increased rates of sensible drinking.
A survey of over 1,000 university students found that 59% have changed their drinking behavior as a result of the campaign to promote responsible or moderate alcohol consumption. Thirty-one percent of the students now consider being drunk as the biggest threat to their safety. Twenty-four percent now monitor the number of drinks they consume, 27% make sure to eat when they go drinking, and 18% drink water between alcoholic drinks.
The program is sponsored by NUS Services, which provides services to student unions in the UK.
