"MATURING OUT" OF HEAVY DRINKING
Another study has found that college students who drink heavily tend to moderate their drinking dramatically after graduation. Published by the American Psychological Association, the study examined the drinking of 319 fraternity members during their college years and again three years after they graduated. The reality of "real world" demands of the workplace, marriage and family makes continuing heavy drinking difficult and undesirable for most graduates.
These findings of moderation after graduation are consistent with those of other studies.
