HE DIDN'T SWALLOW?
George Hacker is Director of the Alcohol Policies Project of the anit-alcohol Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI). Mr. Hacker spends much of his time trying to prevent anyone under the age of 21 (even adults) from consuming any amount of any alcohol beverage. His effort typically involves using scare tactics warning of the dire consequences of using this addictive "gateway drug."
When asked on CNN's Crossfire program if he had ever consumed alcohol while underage himself, Mr. Hacker admitted that he "might have sipped once or twice" but insisted that he "never swallowed." To make it perfectly clear that he was above reproach, he again insisted, "I never swallowed."
