Alcohol May Help Liver
New research in Canada suggests that consuming one or two drinks a day could benefit the liver.
Dr. Gerald Minuk of the University of Manitobe, Canada, found in animal studies that moderate drinking appears to help damaged livers repair themselves. Not surprisingly, heavy consumption of alcohol hinders the ability of the liver to heal itself.
The research was reported at the annual meeting of the American Association for the Study of Liver Disease in Dallas, Texas.
