Drinking Alcohol and Longevity: More Scientific Medical Research Evidence
Another study shows both reduced cardiac problems and lower all-cause mortality in adults who drink light to moderate amounts of alcohol.
The research examined 2,487 adults aged 70-79 years without heart disease at the beginning of the study. They were followed for an average period of over five and one-half years.
The risks of cardiac events (myocardial infarction, angina, or heart failure) and of all-cause mortality were significantly lower in light to moderate drinkers than in abstainers or occasional drinkers (those who drank <1 drink per week).
