Drinking During Pregnancy
Italian researchers have found that women who reported consuming one or two alcohol drinks per day during their pregnancies did not experience any increase in preterm or premature births.
The study interviewed nearly 2,500 women after delivery about their drinking patterns before and during pregnancy.
Editorial note: Although there is no medical evidence that light or moderate alcohol consumption is harmful to the fetus in any way, the safest choice is to abstain from drinking during pregnancy.
