Among drivers on weekend nights, 2.2% were intoxicated and 16.3% tested positive for illicit drugs according to a national survey of drivers conducted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). Driving with a BAC of .08 or higher has dropped 71% since 1973.
