Alcohol Advertising and the Marin Institute for the Prevention of Alcohol and Other Drug Problems
The Marin Institute for the Prevention of Alcohol and Other Drug Problems has announced that it believes alcohol advertising and marketing should be limited to “tombstone” messages and that no advertising should ever reach underage youths.
The problem with implementing the Marin Institute’s position is simple… the Supreme Court of the United States. The nation’s highest court has repeatedly held that either restriction would be a violation of the First Amendment right to free speech.
