Sunday Alcohol Sales in MA OK
Sunday sales of alcoholic beverages are now legal in Massachusetts because of legislation signed by the governor.
The prohibition against selling beer, spirits and wine on Sundays was one of the last vestiges of Colonial-era Puritan blue laws designed to enforce prohibitions against playing cards, unnecessary travel, playing sports, dancing and many other activities.
Today, Sunday is the second-busiest shopping day of the week.
