Trumpet Auditions for the
Crane School of Music

Audition Dates

On Campus
Several Saturdays throughout the school year are set aside for formal on-campus auditions. These are the best times to audition. If, however, none of them are possible, a private audition can be arranged on a mutually convenient weekday. Here are the formal audition dates for the '99-00 school year:

December 4, 1999
January 22, 2000
February 5, 2000
March 11, 2000

Off Campus
The Crane School of Music also holds off-campus auditions in Rochester, Amherst, Albany, and Long Island. These will take place February 19-22. Please contact the Crane School of Music for information concerning these dates.

Auditioning Early
Since admission to the Crane trumpet program is very competitive--only eight to ten students are accepted each year--it is possible that all available openings can become filled before the last audition days. It is recommended that you audition as early in the school year as possible to avoid getting shut out. (Of course, don't pick an early date if you won't have adequate time for preparation.)
