Alpha Kappa Phi History
The Agonian Sorority began as a literary society in 1882. Since that
time, the sisterhood has expanded into both service and social branches of
interest. Our colors gold, white, and blue symbolize truth, loyalty, and
friendship. These three characteristics are what the sisters of the Agonian
Sorority feel are the basis of our house.
Over 100 years of traditions and friendships have built a base of over
1500 alumnae. With the creation of an alumnae association, along with an
annual newsletter, they keep in touch with the active membership. Our board
of directors aids us in overseeing finances and has enabled us to purchase
our home at 11 Pierrepont
Avenue.
