Underage Alcohol Sales Down Steeply in Indiana

Alcohol sting operations conducted by Indiana State inspectors found a dramatic drop in sales to underage persons during the first six months of 2011. During that time, over 5,000 sting operations found that sales to persons under the age of 21 dropped over 40% since 2009.

Some of the declines were especially dramatic. Violations were found in 2.6% of private clubs, down from 11.5% and in only 2% of grocery stores, down from 22.6% in 2009.
