Bar Can Sue Underage Drinkers

Owners of an Indiana bar that could have lost its liquor license for serving minors can sue the underage drinkers. The Indiana Court of Appeals has ruled that while the burden of enforcing the underage drinking laws falls on bar owners, public policy requires that minors should be held accountable for their actions.

Underage drinkers can easily obtain excellent counterfeit ID cards that are virtually impossible to detect but that jeopardize bar tenders and bar owners their livelihoods.
