Alcohol Use & College Attendance

Traditional-age college students (18-22) are more likely than others to be heavy drinkers. However, as they mature (aged 26 and older), they are much less likely to drink heavily than those who did not attend college.

These findings are from the most recent National Survey on Drug Use and Health, a federal study by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) of the US Department of Health and Human Services.
