Temperance Tactics in Louisiana

A recently passed law in a Louisiana town permitting the sale of alcoholic beverages with meals is being challenged by five residents of Minden.

The five activists were unsuccessful in preventing the measure from being placed on the ballot in an effort to deny their fellow residents the opportunity to decide the issue for themselves democratically. Now the five are attempting to have the election overturned and thwart the desires of the majority.
