CAR SEIZURE AND DWI

In about 2 1/2 years, New York City police have seized over 4,000 vehicles from accused drunken drivers.

Fatal acidents involving drunk drivers decreased 28 percent between the two years before and after the start of the program, according to Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik.
