MYTH: I can become infected if I eat food prepared or served by someone who is HIV infected.

MYTH: I can become infected by sharing food or eating utensils with someone who is HIV positive.

FACT: HIV is NOT spread by casual contact. HIV is NOT transmitted through food, food handling or cooking utensils. The virus dies quickly with exposure to air, soap, water and heat.
