Soggy's Bar and Grill was started years ago by a SUNY student who's identity (and school)
I am not aware of. It was a VERY long running collaborative story, written by SUNY students,
primarily from SUNYs Potsdam, Canton, and Plattsburgh. The story was located on SUNY Potsdam's
VAX Notes BBS. Many, many adventures were undertaken by the bar's intrepid adventurers, mostly
unusual ones. Where else could you find Star Wars parodies, mutant kangaroos, killer 'toon
penguins, and the dreaded Janebeest? The patrons themselves were an eclectic mix: werewolfs,
felinoids, cyberpunks, the Norse god of Thunder, and even the insane Troubador (and his Pink
Monkey!) bellied up to the bar. Unfortunately, the VAX was shut down a few years ago, and so the
story died...
For a while anyway. I was typing up my net.personas, to place on the website, when I realized
how much I missed the ol' bar, and the stories we had written. In it's honor, and to provide a
good focal point for stories, I decided to restart Soggy's. Now, it's back... may it live up
to it's reputation for strangeness, and good fun!
(BTW, if anyone knows the identity of the founder of Soggy's, or has any of the old stories
archived, please email me. I would like to credit the founder properly, as well as post the
old stories... for that matter, if anyone has the Our_World stories as well, I would like
copies...)
