1859
Dr. William Noble (Canton’s first physician) purchases two lots of the tract from George W. Hill and Harriet for $2,000 on Nov. 1. Dr. Noble came to Canton (from Massachusetts, in 1805. He owned and operated a stone tavern on the Potsdam-Canton Road, and in 1826 purchased from the Harrison’s the farmland where St. Lawrence University is located.

1862 William Noble conveys the lots to daughters Martha and Eliza Noble for $1, reserving life-use for himself and wife Ruth. The northerly of the two lots is where the house is located.

1871 William Noble dies on Feb 18.

1889 Eliza Noble Delance deeds interest in the house and lots to her sister Martha Noble, who resides in the house until she dies in 1916 on Jan 14.

1916 The property is left to Dr. William Lincoln Noble who sells it to Leslie R. and Emma Smith.

An A. Smith is shown on the 1868) map as possessing the property directly to the north of the house (45 Park Street).

1917 Leslie R. and Emma Smith acquire house from Dr. Will Lincoln Noble on Dec 15.

1918 / ... Leslie R. and Emma Smith dispose of house to Mrs. Sarah B. Raymond Miles, wife of Dr. Edson Russell Miles on April 25.
